Observing the World Science Day for Peace and Development
Today, on 10 November 2023, on the World Science Day for Peace and Development, students of the Ivano-Frankivsk Professional College visited the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies for an interactive lecture “Science is Cool!”. They observed various phenomena: fire and ice, heat and cold, light and darkness, special light…, lead glasses, they also received prizes!!! Volodymyr Kotsiubynskyi, Head of the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies, and Tetiana Poliakova, Deputy Director of Ivano-Frankivsk Professional College, delivered opening speeches. Andrii Kotsiubynskyi, an ScD student of the Department, gave a fascinating insight into science. Only knowledge shapes the development of civilization, as evidenced by today’s holiday.

Workshop of the project team on the launch of the Jean Monnet Module “RadiatIon Safety: European-Ukrainian APproach” (101127143 — RISE-UP — ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH)
On 1 September 2023, the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University launches the Jean Monnet Module “RadiatIon Safety: European-Ukrainian APproach” (101127143 — RISE-UP — ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH), which is designed for three academic years (2023-2026). The project aims to create a course that will enable students to develop a system of multidisciplinary knowledge about the nature of radioactive radiation, risk factors, biological effects, characteristics of ionizing radiation, radiation hygiene, and radiation protection in the context of the need to ensure the implementation of Ukraine’s state policy in the field of radiation safety, harmonizing regulations and legislation with the requirements of the European Union.
Today, an orientation workshop was held with the project team:
Volodymyr Kotsiubynskyi, Head of the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University,
Volodymyra Boichuk, Professor of the Department of Physics and Methods of Teaching at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University,
Nadiia Kobetska, Professor of the Department of Labour, Environmental and Agricultural Law at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University,
Liliia Turovska, Associate Professor of the Department of Medical Informatics, Medical and Biological Physics at Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University,
Taras Parashchuk, Researcher at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Materials Science and Ceramics, AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland),
which agreed on the models and concepts of the course, defined a system for monitoring the quality of the course implementation, and outlined a further work plan for the project.
