On April 23, 2025, Professor Volodymyr Kotsiubynskyi, Head of the Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science, participated as a speaker in the panel discussion “Open Science: A New Research Culture” during the Forum of Young Scientists’ Councils of Higher Education Institutions in the Ivano-Frankivsk Region, entitled “Scientific Trends: The Formula for a Young Researcher’s Success.”
Hosted at Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University, the event brought together scholars and early-career researchers to explore key issues in the advancement of science in Ukraine, the transformative role of young academics in society, collaborative models between academia and industry, and pathways for the commercialization of scientific innovations. A strong emphasis was placed on promoting and implementing open science practices across the country.
Professor Kotsiubynskyi presented the integration of open science principles into the research ecosystem of Vasyl Stefanyk Carpathian National University. He highlighted the key outcomes of the Open Science Center OpenLab (https://open-lab.pnu.edu.ua/), established within the EU-funded project HORIZON-INFRA-2023-EOSC-01-01 (2024–2026).
His talk focused on the strategic organization of open research data management and showcased the institutional repository DataSet (https://dataset.pnu.edu.ua/), developed under the OpenLab initiative and built on the InvenioRDM platform. The presentation illustrated how the university’s commitment to open technologies, digital infrastructure, and forward-thinking leadership is fostering a vibrant open science culture at both the local and national levels.
