On May 8–9, 2025, as part of the implementation of the EU-funded ERASMUS+ Jean Monnet Module 101127143 — RISE-UP — ERASMUS-JMO-2023-HEI-TCH-RSCH “RadiatIonSafety: European-Ukrainian APproach,” a series of informational events dedicated to Europe Day took place.
On May 8, Prof. Volodymyr Kotsyubynskyi from the Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science delivered a presentation at the IV All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference for Early-Career Researchers and PhD Students titled “Adaptation to Global Changes and Challenges in the Economy, Tourism, Recreation, and Environmental Protection.” The presentation highlighted the achievements of the RISE-UP project and addressed key aspects of radiation safety in the context of strengthening European-Ukrainian cooperation.
On May 9, Prof. Volodymyra Boychuk gave a training for university students on the topic “Radiation Safety: Physical-Technical and Biomedical Aspects.” The training covered modern methods of protection against ionizing radiation, the effects of radiation on human health and the environment, and European standards in the field of radiation safety.
These events contributed to raising awareness among students and young researchers about the importance of radiation safety and the integration of European practices into the Ukrainian context. The RISE-UP project continues its mission to promote knowledge of radiation safety and enhance cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in this vital area.
