The UNIVERSEH 2.0. project, implemented by the European Space University for Earth and Humanity consortium, has been launched. Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University cooperates with the University of Toulouse (France), AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow (Poland), University of Luxembourg, Heinrich HeineUniversity of Dusseldorf(Germany), Lulea University of Technology(Sweden), University of Rome “Tor Vergata” (Italy), and University of Namur (Belgium) in this initiative.Throughout the year, students of our university will have the opportunity to participate in conferences, meetings, forums, and schools, united by the “space” theme. In particular, students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics, Liubov Babinchuk and Yuliia Lazarovych, took part in the Arctic Winter Schoolat the Swedish Institute of Space Physics(Kiruna, Sweden) from 26 February to 1 March. The event covered a course of multidisciplinary lectures and seminars that addressed the issues of atmospheric physics and solar-terrestrial interactions, climatology, space weather, the use of nanosatellites and aerosonding to monitor the Earth’s circumpolar regions. An important outcome of the school was the contacts and competences necessary to involve university students in further activities with the formation of working groups to address complex problems of climate change, efficient use of natural resources, and sustainable regional development in line with EU goals. The strategy being developed by the European Commission envisages the use of educational, scientific, technical, and innovative components to enable the development of new products and services related to the space sector of the economy. In this context, the UNIVERSEH 2.0. project activities are aimed primarily at the targeted formation of an international team of specialists who will be able to jointly solve practical problems important for Europe, and Ukraine as part of it, in the near future.
