On March 6, 2025, an initial meeting took place between researchers from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Prof. Volodymyr Kotsiubynskyi and PhD student Vitalii Kindrat), Rzeszów University, Poland (Prof. Marian Cholewa), the GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research , Germany (Prof. Plamen Boutachkov), and Lund University, Sweden (Prof. Luis Sarmiento Pico).
The meeting focused on the preparation of a joint project proposal under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie HORIZON-MSCA-2025 program. The future project will be dedicated to the study of theoretical and experimental aspects of secondary electron emission induced by heavy high-energy ion flows in ordered arrays of one-dimensional nanostructures.
The anticipated results will be significant for the design of fast particle detectors, with potential applications in medicine, energy, and the space industry.
