On 6 December 2024, a final meeting of the participants of the UNIVERSEH 2.0-Extended for Ukraine project took place. This initiative is part of the UNIVERSEH project, implemented by an alliance of European space universities. Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University collaborates within this alliance with universities from Poland (AGH University in Kraków), France (Université de Toulouse), Italy (University of Rome “Tor Vergata”), Germany (Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf), Sweden (Luleå University of Technology), Luxembourg (University of Luxembourg), and Belgium (University of Namur).
The Director of the Space Technology Centre at AGH UST in Kraków, Professor Tadeusz Uhl, summarised the implementation of the project and outlined future directions for collaboration between European universities and Ukraine. Over the past year, students and lecturers from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University participated in a range of events, including the VIIth Space Resources Conference – Towards Artemis Generation, the Startech 4.0 NAWA Edition workshop, the international conference Space Expedition Workshop – Human Factor in the Settlement of the Moon and Mission Operations, and many other activities.
It is important to note that the UNIVERSEH 2.0 – Extended for Ukraine project has laid the foundation for new initiatives combining advanced technologies with European educational standards. As part of the European Union’s ERASMUS+ grant programme (2024-1-PL01-KA220-HED-000252474), the project “Digital Course for University Analog Astronauts Space Trainings” has been launched. The project is coordinated by AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland), with consortium members including Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (France), Poliarte Politecnico delle Arti SRL (Italy), and CreateHub (Poland). The project aims to develop e-learning courses tailored to preparing potential participants for space missions.
