On 1 February 2024, the Department of Materials Science and New Technologies of the Faculty of Physics and Technology continued a series of information events for school graduates under the title “Magic of Science”. This time, an interactive meeting-lecture was held with students of the Ivano-Frankivsk Scientific Physical and Technical Lyceum of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council (52 people in total).
The lyceum students were able to deepen their knowledge of physics and technology, participated in experiments with fire and ultra-low temperatures, and were able to see, explain and understand unusual phenomena of optics, electricity, and thermodynamics. Particular attention was paid to demonstrating the capabilities of advanced science and the role of a highly qualified specialist in the development of modern applied technologies.
The main objective of the event was to form a vision of the opportunities and benefits of obtaining a high-tech education at Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. “Magic of Science” initiative is an integral part of the faculty’s strategy to inform schoolchildren about the wide range of opportunities that are currently available to students of the Faculty of Physics and Technology in the educational, scientific and international areas.
