From 21 to 23 May 2025, the 8th International Conference “Space Resources – the Path to Sustainable Development of the Moon” was held at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. The event was organized by the AGH Space Technology Centre and served as a platform for discussing advanced technologies in the field of space resource use and sustainable development of lunar infrastructure, under the chairmanship of Professor Tadeusz Uhl.
Volodymyra Boichuk, Professor at the Department of Applied Physics and Materials Science of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University, was an invited speaker. She delivered a presentation titled “Solid Oxide Fuel Cell: Prospects for Space Missions”. The presentation was given within the framework of the Space_Ready project (ERASMUS+ KA220-HED program – “Cooperation Partnerships in Higher Education”).
The key topics of the conference included space resource utilization, design and operation of space structures and materials, space law and governance, bioengineering and astronautics, cybersecurity in space, deep space and lunar exploration, society and space, sustainable development, life support and bioastrobiology. Prominent speakers in the field of space research included Machulena Hoffmann (University of Luxembourg), Agnieszka Lukaszczyk (hiALtitude Consulting), Katarzyna Malinowski (Kozminski University), Emma Gatti (Space Analytics, AGH University of Krakow), Martin Taimar (TU Dresden) and Agata Maria Kolodziejczyk (Space Technology Centre, AGH University of Krakow).
This event is part of a broader mission of European university partnerships aimed at ensuring access to the latest knowledge in space technologies for Ukrainian researchers. It supports the development of innovative solutions in sectors such as medicine, energy and telecommunications, contributing to global progress and technological development.
